BATH — Patten Free Library will host the fourth in a series of five monthly brown-bag lunches on April 25.
The gathering this month is titled “Appy Hour.” Patrons are invited to share a favorite “app” that they have found for their smartphone or tablet.
The event begins at noon in the second-floor Community Room.
“We’re hoping this will be a highly interactive hour for everyone,” Roberta Jordan, outreach and instruction librarian, said in a release. “We would like participants to speak for three or four minutes about any app that they have found addicting, whether it’s a game like Scrabble or Angry Birds, or a reading app like the Kindle app, or a picture manager, or a productivity app. Whenever possible, we’ll connect participants’ devices to a projector, let them do a little show and tell, and then let them answer the questions of audience members.”
People who would like to share an app during the program can contact Jordan by email at rjordan@patten.lib.me.us or by phone at 443-5141 extension 25.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
