BRUNSWICK — Spectrum Generations will sponsor a “We Sustain Maine” spring celebration to build awareness about senior hunger in central Maine from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Brunswick Walmart Supercenter, 15 Tibbetts Drive.
“We Sustain Maine is Spectrum Generations newest senior nutrition initiative that supports Maine farmers by including Maine food products in its Meals On Wheels and community dining programs,” a Spectrum Generations release states. “Proceeds from the spring celebration and promotions will enable Spectrum Generations to bulk purchase and properly store Maine food products in season, when it’s most fresh and nutritious to be used year-round in its Wheels On Meals menu.”
During Friday’s event, Spectrum Generations will sell hot dogs, chips, cookies and beverages. Proceeds from the raffle of a John Deere “Gator” motorized vehicle for children between 3 and 8 years old will benefit the program.
A portion of Coca Cola products sold at Walmart stores during Maine will benefit Spectrum Generations.
