OLD ORCHARD BEACH — The 19th annual State Notary Public Education Conference will be held on Thursday at The Dunegrass Golf and Country Club.

This conference is the state’s largest annual educational event for Maine notaries,” a release from Informed Notaries of Maine states. “The conference is an excellent opportunity for notaries to review procedures and prepare for the mandatory Notary Commission Renewal Exam.”
The event will include seven educational workshops, vendors and door prizes. Featured speakers include Secretary of State Charles Summers, Deputy Secretary of State Julie Flynn and State Notary Officer Cathy Beaudoin.
The conference will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The registration fee is $65 for members and $70 for non-members. The fee includes the luncheon and all applicable material. For more information and to register online, visit www.informednotariesofmaine.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
