TOPSHAM — Alice Woodman Rossiter, age 96,, of Governors Way at The Highlands died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the Cadigan Lodge.
She was born in Lowell, Mass., on May 4, 1915, the daughter of Cyrus and Frances Billings Woodman. Alice was a graduate of the Buckingham School in Cambridge, Ma and Radcliffe College. Alice also attended the Bank Street College of Education in New York City.
Alice lived and worked in New York City for most of her life and for twenty years she worked for the national office of The American Heart Association.
In 1974 she married Peter Rossiter, a photographer. In 1976 they retired and moved to Harpswell. Alice was a member of the Brunswick Unitarian Universalist Church.
Surviving is a brother Charles B. Woodman of Harpswell, a nephew Edward C. Woodman of Gloucester, Mass., and a niece Jane M. Woodman of Ipswich, Mass.
At Alice’s request there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the Brunswick Unitarian Universalist Church, 7 Middle Street Brunswick, Maine 04011. Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
