GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — A Chicopee man has pleaded not guilty to charges related to nearly 20 arsons and other crimes in the Berkshires over the past several years.

The Berkshire District Attorney’s office said 54-year-old Stuart Zebrowski of Chicopee was arraigned Friday in Central Berkshire District Court. Judge Rita Koenigs ordered him held until a dangerousness hearing April 12.

Zebrowski was arrested Thursday in Great Barrington and charged in connection with 15 brush fires and four building fires. He is also charged with breaking and entering, larceny of a building and larceny under $250.

The state fire marshal said among the fires Zebrowski is charged with setting is a vacant apartment building in Great Barrington, a barn on Department of Conservation and Recreation property in Sandisfield, and the same building in New Marlborough twice.
