STANDISH – Standish Fire/Rescue and Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 25 at 7 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Route 113 for a three-vehicle crash involving a Bonny Eagle school bus.

According to Chief Brent Libby, a bus driver heading eastbound on Route 113 had just picked up two students at Colby Drive and was struck from behind by a Toyota 4Runner that had been forced into the bus by a Buick Century.

There were no injuries on board the bus, which was carrying about 25 middle-school students at the time. The driver of the SUV was transported to Maine Medical Center. The driver of the Buick was evaluated and not transported. Both vehicles suffered enough damage to require a tow.

The bus received little damage and continued on its route. The road was closed for about 30 minutes during the incident.
