Big swings? Yup, we got ’em as both the Boston Red Sox and the Portland Sea Dogs kicked off their 2012 seasons with away games on Thursday. Big wins? Not so much. Boston rallied in the top of the ninth but dropped its opener to the Tigers in Detroit, 3-2, while the Sea Dogs lost both games of a doubleheader to the Reading Phillies. Oh, well, it’s a long season and we’re just getting warmed up, right?
