BRUNSWICK — In celebration of its 20 years in business, Wild Oats Bakery & Cafe is giving back to the community, and it has chosen People Plus and the Brunswick Teen Center as its community partner in a day- long fundraising event.
This coming Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wild Oats is donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to create a “Community For All Ages” vegetable garden and composting bin at People Plus and the Brunswick Teen Center.
According to a news release, Cosmic Stone & Garden in Topsham is coordinating with People Plus to create a supply wish list for the project and also donating a portion of the loam/compost for the vegetable garden. Produce raised at People Plus will be used as ingredients in its Community Shared Meal program, happening monthly at the center.
Wild Oats Bakery & Cafe is located in the Tontine Mall at 149 Maine St. in Brunswick. For more information, contact Rebecca Banks at People Plus at 729- 0757.
