FREEPORT — Mainebiz will host its annual Women to Watch Leadership Breakfast Forum on April 12 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport, from 8 to 11 a.m.
According to a news release, participants are invited to join three past Women to Watch honorees — Patricia Quinn, executive director of the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority; Susan Corbett, CEO of Axiom Technologies; and Colleen Hilton, CEO of VNA Home Health and Hospice and mayor of Westbrook — for a discussion on managing public controversies when you’re the chief executive. The moderator will be Carol Coultas, Mainebiz editor.
“I think all of us dread the day we find ourselves on the hot seat, under the glare of intense public scrutiny,” said Coultas. “Our panelists have all been there, and their insights on how to handle such a situation with strength and grace will be invaluable.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
