TOPSHAM — The Bath Area Family YMCA’s Long Reach Swim Club national swimmers are scheduled to host a fundraiser dinner Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Topsham Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall.
Funds raised from the event will help defray travel costs for the swimmers, scheduled to compete in the YMCA Nationals. Cost is $10 per person.
The dinner will feature pulled pork sandwiches with barbecue sauces, homemade baked beans, coleslaw, pickles, sweet iced tea, lemonade and a medley of homemade desserts.
Ten Long Reach Swim Club swimmers have achieved qualifying times to participate in the 2012 YMCA Short Course National Championship Swim Meet, to be held at Greensboro Aquatic Center, Greensboro, N. C., on April 2-4.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
