GORHAM — Gorham police and investigators from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department spent several hours today trying to reconstruct a crash that sent three people to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Sgt. Michael Nault of the Gorham Police Department said a section of Main Street between Route 202 and New Portland Road was shut down after three cars collided near the Cumberland Farms store in downtown Gorham.

Nault said a GMC Yukon hit a car pulling out of the convenience store parking lot, which led to a third vehicle being struck. The names of the people who were injured were not available.

The accident was reported around 2:30 p.m., but investigators did not leave the scene until 7 p.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
