NAPLES – On Tuesday, March 13, at approximately 11:57 p.m. Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home located at 100 Crooked Way in Naples, for a reported home invasion involving a baseball bat. Responding deputies located a suspect vehicle fleeing the area. The vehicle was stopped and patrol deputies arrested one of the occupants charging him with burglary, criminal threatening and criminal mischief.

Further investigation conducted by Sheriff’s Office investigators revealed that the incident was an armed robbery and a second person was taken into custody. Details of the investigation revealed that the two arrested subjects targeted the residence to steal prescription narcotics and one of the subjects had attempted to have the victim believe he was a Cumberland County Law Enforcement Officer. A handgun and a baseball bat were used in the crime and were subsequently recovered. The handgun turned out to be an authentic looking CO2 pellet/BB gun.

No injuries were sustained by anyone involved. The two arrested subjects are James McCoy, 23, of Chipmunk Lane, Naples, and Raymond Miller, 26, of Hancock Road, Casco.

Both Miller and McCoy were scheduled to be arraigned in Portland Court Friday charged with robbery.
