RED CLAWS NOTES: Maine, which has gone 5-5 in its last 10 games, is still harboring playoff hopes, trailing the final playoff berth by 41/2 games. F DeShawn Sims, who left last Sunday’s game with a groin pull, has practiced all week and should be fine for the game. F Morris Almond continues to lead the Red Claws with 23.1 points per game, along with 5.7 rebounds. PG Kenny Hayes, coming off his second triple-double of the season, is next with 16.8 points, 5.0 assists and 4.1 rebounds, followed by F Lawrence Hill (12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds) and G Courtney Pigram (12.1 points).

TOROS NOTES: Austin, second in the West Division, has struggled lately, losing seven of its last 10. But the Toros are coming off an impressive win Wednesday night, 129-116 over Rio Grande Valley. C Eric Dawson paced the Toros with 25 points and 17 rebounds, and G Justin Dentman had 25 points and eight assists. Dentman leads the Toros with 23 points per game and 5.1 assists; Dawson is averaging 16.9 points and 10.4 rebounds. Da’Sean Butler is averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 assists.
