Homestead and veterans’ exemption forms and information are available at www. graymaine.org or at the Gray Town Hall, 24 Main St. in Gray. All exemption forms must be delivered to the Tax Assessor at Gray Town Hall by close of business (4 p.m.) on Monday, April 1.

A craft fair will be held on April 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church’s Parish House behind McDonald’s in Gray, to benefit Open Gates Equine Rescue. Gray Public Library Spring Book Sale starts Friday, March 23. Early birds and collectors can pay $5 and shop in advance Friday evening, March 23, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Saturday, March 24, portion of the sale is open to all from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with no admission charge, just plenty of books at great prices. The event is sponsored by the Gray Public Library Association.
The movie of the month at the Gray Public Library is “My Week with Marilyn,” (rated R) to be shown on March 22 at 2 p.m.
The Inner Workout featuring Sahaja Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique, which helps increase wellness and decrease stress by way of a natural living process of awakening one’s own internal energy. Please come to the Gray Public Library on Wednesdays, March 14-April 4 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for a guided meditation with instruction. Handouts will be available for continued practice at home.

Budget workshop
The next process in the budget workshop is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, and will be a Town Council informal hearing. The council will conduct an informational public hearing on the proposed budget to seek public comments before it takes any official actions regarding the budget. On Monday, March 26, the council will review the proposed budget and any public input from the informal hearing and refine it accordingly.

Dancing with ?the Staff
The first annual Dancing with the Staff to benefit Patriot Parents will be on Saturday, March 24, at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m. for silent auction) at Gray/New Gloucester High School, Gray.
Laugh out loud as staff members from every school in the district compete for recognition as best dancers. Additionally, a silent auction will be held so be sure to bring cash or checks to bid on these fabulous items. The goal is to raise $10,000. Dust off those running shoes
The Patriot 5K is a USATF-certified, fast, mostly flat, scenic course around Crystal Lake in Gray. It will be held on Saturday, May 19, at 9 a.m. (Kid’s Fun Run at 8 a.m.) Start/Finish: St. Gregory’s Church, 24 North Raymond Road in Gray.
Pre-registration is $18. Race-day registration is $20. No refunds. Pre-registration will be available online until midnight of May 17. If using paper registration forms, please mail prior to May 14. Race-day registration will be available on-site from 7-8:30 a.m.
Over $5,000 in cash and prizes! The first 200 to register will receive a short-sleeve tech running shirt. All other registrations received up until May 5 will receive a short-sleeve cotton race shirt.

Good Job G-NG
Saturday, Feb. 25, marked the end of a difficult middle school Nordic and Alpine ski season for teams due to warm weather and lack of snow. The Girls Alpine championships were hosted by Shawnee Peak. Kaelyn Woods took home a medal in the giant slalom and all four of the G-NG girls were qualifying for Ski Meister – a combined award for both alpine events and both Nordic events.
The Nordic skate and classic championships were hosted by Mollyocket at Starks Hill in Fryeburg. For G-NG boys, Ben Rogers placed second in classic, third in skate. For G-NG girls, Kaelyn Woods placed first in classic, second in skate, first for Ski Meister. Keaton McEvoy took fourth in classic, fifth in skate, and second for Ski Meister, while Emma Woods – Kaelyn’s sister – took third in Ski Meister making it a G-NG sweep for the coveted Ski Meister awards. Overall, G-NG girls team placed third for Nordic while the boys team took a close fourth place overall. G-NG Nordic/Alpine Team for 2012 was also the first-time recipient of the Greg Waite Cup for sportsmanship and team spirit, marking the end of a productive and enjoyable 2012 middle school ski season.
