LAKELAND, Fla. — The Bowdoin College baseball team improved to 4-0 with a 13-2, 3-2 sweep of Westfield State on Tuesday.
John Lefeber earned the victory in the first game, going six strong innings with seven strikeouts. Bowdoin scored five runs in the third inning and six more in the fifth.
In the nightcap, Jay Loughlin picked up the mound win with five strikeouts over six frames. Erik Jacobsen keyed a three-run fifth, and Tim McGarry added a two-run single. Ian Edwards picked up his second save.
On Monday, Bowdoin swept past Endicott, taking the opener 3-1 and the nightcap 3-0.
Christian Martin pitched four-hit ball over six innings in the first game. Jordan Edgett laced an RBI single, while Findley had two RBIs and a pair of hits.
Oliver Van Zant threw a dominating one-hit shutout, with seven strikeouts, in the nightcap.
