BRUNSWICK — Volunteers will begin collecting book donations Saturday at the former Bookland in Cook’s Corner for Mid Coast Hospital’s annual spring Used Book Sale.
Volunteers will be available to accept book donations from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays — March 23, 31, April 7 — through April 7 and on Wednesday, April 4, also from 9 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers will help book donors sort donations.
According to a press release from the hospital, textbooks, Reader’s Digest condensed books and magazines are not accepted.
The event is organized through the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary. The book sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 13, in the Café Conference room of the hospital at 123 Medical Center Drive.
Proceeds will support scholarships for area students pursuing careers in health.
Applications for those scholarships can be found at www.midcoasthealth.com/volunteer.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
