GRAY — Two teenage boys have been arrested on more than 30 charges in connection with a string of car burglaries reported between Feb. 22 and Feb. 25 in the Depot Road area.

One of the boys, a 16-year-old, was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center. The other, who is 15 years old, was released to his parents on house arrest, according to a news release today from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Among the charges are burglary to a motor vehicle, theft and criminal mischief.

The sheriff’s office alleges that the boys, Windham High School students from Gray and Raymond, stole electronic devices, money, clothing, identification cards and credit cards. Not all of the stolen items were found.

Deputies and investigators from the sheriff’s office used “physical evidence and footwear impressions” as tools to identify the suspects, according to the release.
