Windham’s Gribbin chosen as Gatorade player of year
Meghan Gribbin, a standout senior guard from Windham High, was named the Gatorade Maine player of the year Thursday.
The 5-foot-5 Gribbin led the SMAA in scoring (20.4 points) and assists (4.1) while earning the league’s player of the year honors. She also averaged 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
Gribbin, a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, led the Eagles to the Western Class A semifinals, where they lost to eventual state champ McAuley.
“Meghan Gribbin was the catalyst for all of her team’s success,” said Gorham Coach Laughn Berthiaume in a press release. “She was able to control the game’s tempo and she knew how to score in multiple ways.”
