BRUNSWICK — Stephanie Slocum, executive director of the Brunswick Downtown Association (BDA), will discuss “What’s happening in downtown Brunswick” at 3:30 p. m. Friday at Thornton Oaks, 25 Thornton Way.
The public is invited to attend the free program.
“Slocum will discuss the current work of the BDA, the status of downtown, and events for the summer season,” according to a Thornton Oaks release.
Town Councilor Margo Knight, who chairs the Downtown
Master Plan Committee, will join Slocum to discuss plans for pedestrian and traffic flow, beautification ideas, gathering places and other improvements to the downtown area.
“All townspeople are encouraged to attend and offer suggestions,” Richard Visser, a Thornton Oaks resident who has organized this series called “Town Matters,” said in the release.
Steve Levesque, executive director of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA), will speak at “Town Matters” in April.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
