AUGUSTA — Sean Riley, chief operating officer for Freeport-based Maine Course Hospitality Group, recently announced the selection of longtime employee Gordon Clark as the general manager of the new Hampton Inn in Augusta.
According to a news release, Clark has been general manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Brunswick since its opening in 2004. Prior to that appointment, Clark managed the Comfort Suites in Freeport.
Riley said, “Gordon is the perfect leader for the Hampton Inn. He has led his two previous MCHG hotels to brand-wide recognition. He has a keen ability to develop quality, which Hampton is known for. Gordon was perfect for this leadership role.”
“My years with Marriott have taught me that taking care of associates leads to satisfied guests,” said Clark. “The power of the Hampton brand, with well trained associates, will be perfect for the travelers doing business at our state capital.”
The Augusta Hampton Inn, with its 80 rooms, is expected to open in June.
The Maine Course Hospitality Group operates 13 hotels throughout New England, including the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Augusta.
