The driver of a van that hit a utility pole on State Road this morning escaped injury.

According to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department, a 2000 Plymouth Voyager driven by Don Trimble, 44, of 28 Mountain Road, West Bath, hit the utility pole at about 6:47 a.m. Deputy Mark Anderson responded.

Chief Deputy Brett Strout said it doesn’t appear Trimble was injured but his van sustained about $3,000 damage.

He said Central Maine Power crews replaced the pole. A CMP spokesperson said it appears the replacement did not affect power.
