TOPSHAM — The American Cancer Society will host Spin for Hope, a three-hour indoor cycling event, Sunday at participating health clubs throughout New England.
In the Mid-coast region, the event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the ComeFIT Zone, 96 Bristol Road, Damariscotta.
“While it has long been an accepted fact that physical activity reduces one’s risk of heart disease, it’s still news that physical activity can also reduce the risk of cancer,” an American Cancer Society release states. “Spin for Hope is an exciting way to support the American Cancer Society in their mission to save lives and create more birthdays through fun and fitness.”
Registration costs $25. Participants can register as an individual and cycle for the entire three hours, or form a team of two or more people and take turns cycling.
To donate to a team, for more information or to register, call toll-free 1-800-227-2345 or visit spinforhope.org.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
