A Paw in the Door, a local cat rescue organization, will hold an informal meeting Saturday afternoon for anyone interested in helping cats in need in the Mid-coast area.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the New Jerusalem at the corner of Middle and Winter streets.
A Paw in the Door, founded by Bath resident Patty Sample Colwell, helps abused or abandoned cats and provides spay and neuter services to cats owned by low income families, according to a release..
Last year the organization helped hundreds of cats.
Volunteers drive animals to medical appointments, help at fundraising events, foster cats before adoption, and help with publicity and outreach, among other tasks.
