BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Cody Zeller scored 18 points and Victor Oladipo added 13, giving No. 18 Indiana a 70-55 victory over No. 5 Michigan State in men’s basketball on Tuesday night.

The Hoosiers (23-7, 10-7 Big Ten) became the second team in less than a week to beat three top five teams this season. Kansas also achieved a feat only one other Indiana team had done since 1948-49.

Draymond Green had 29 points for Michigan State (24-6, 13-4), which was trying to clinch its second outright league title in four seasons.

Indiana (23-7, 10-7) became the first Big Ten school to upset the nation’s No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the same season since 1952-53.

 

(4) DUKE 79, WAKE FOREST 71: Ryan Kelly scored a career-high 23 points as the visiting Blue Devils (26-4, 13-2 ACC) won their seventh straight, beating the Demon Deacons (13-16, 4-11).

(14) WISCONSIN 52, MINNESOTA 45: Jordan Taylor scored 22 points as the Badgers (22-8, 11-6 Big Ten) won at home over the Gophers (17-13, 5-12) to clinch a first-round bye in the Big Ten tournament.

 

VANDERBILT 77, (16) FLORIDA 67: John Jenkins hit six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points as the Commodores (21-9, 10-5) beat the visiting Gators (22-8, 10-5) to clinch a first-round bye in the Southeastern Conference tournament.

 

UNE: Jason Mulligan resigned as head coach after five seasons. He finished 60-71, 36-34 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play.

The Nor’easters were 6-19 this season, 6-12 in the conference.

BASEBALL

MAINE 5, FLORIDA A&M 3: Troy Black singled home a run with one of his two hits, and also scored a run as the Black Bears (2-2) beat Florida A&M (1-7) in Tallahassee, Fla.

D.J. Voisine pitched into the fifth for the Black Bears, allowing four hits and an earned run. Mike Connolly pitched the final 42/3, striking out eight.

SOFTBALL

OREGON STATE SWEEPS MAINE: Desiree Beltran, Mary Claire Brenner, Paige Hall and Elizabeth Santana homered for the Beavers (13-4) in a 13-0 five-inning victory over Maine (1-6) in a sweep at Fullerton, Calif.

In the opener, Kristen Koslosky rapped two of the three hits allowed by Marina Demore during a 4-0 victory.
