PORTLAND – Cameron McLain had two goals and three assists, and Sterling Weatherbie added a goal and three assists Wednesday to lead Cheverus to a 7-1 victory against Gorham in a schoolboy hockey game at the Portland Ice Arena.

Senior Alex Mann scored his first career goal for the Stags (13-5) with 28 seconds left in the regular season. Thomas Sullivan added two goals and Liam Fitzpatrick also scored for Cheverus.

Spence Cowand scored and Justin Broy made 37 saves for Gorham (11-7). Mike Haas-Zanghi stopped 21 shots for the Stags.

CAMDEN HILLS 4, YARMOUTH 1: Henry Owen had two goals and an assist to lead the Windjammers (10-7-1) over the Clippers (11-6-1) at Rockport.

Stephen Hand and Jack Orne also scored, and Aaron Daniello stopped 31 shots for Camden Hills.

Marshall Brunelle scored Yarmouth’s goal after just 42 seconds.

Red DeSmith made 27 saves for Yarmouth.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

HAMPDEN ACADEMY 47, BANGOR 37: Fred Knight scored 16 points and Christian McCue had 15 to lead the top-ranked Broncos (19-1) past the fifth-seeded Rams (14-6) in an Eastern Class A semifinal at Augusta.

Hampden Academy outscored the Rams 24-17 in the second half.

MT. BLUE 52, EDWARD LITTLE 49: Third-seeded Mt. Blue (16-4) got some big plays from Blake Hart and Eric Berry down the stretch to down seventh-ranked Edward Little (12-8) in an Eastern Class A semifinal at Bangor.

FOREST HILLS 54, VALLEY 46: The second-ranked Tigers (17-3) made six foul shots in the final minute to beat third-seeded Valley (15-5) in a Western Class D semifinal at Augusta.
