BATH — Bath police are on the trail of a man who allegedly used someone else’s credit card to buy a television, then left the state.

Lt. Stan Cielinski said someone hired a man to provide care and run errands for that person’s mother. The person provided a Walmart credit card to the man to purchase household items for the mother as well.

The caretaker allegedly used the Walmart credit card to buy a $1,400 flat-screen television, which was reported to police shortly after noon Tuesday.

“This case worker unexpectedly left for Florida and took the TV set with him,” Cielinski said. The investigating officer is trying to track the man down in Florida and charge him with theft.
