SCARBOROUGH — A Gorham business has declared his candidacy in state Senate District 6.

Democrat Jim Boyle owns two businesses: Boyle Associates environmental consultants, and Avant Dance & Event Center in Westbrook.

District 6, which includes all of Gorham and large portions of Westbrook and Scarborough,  is represented by four-term Sen. Phil Bartlett, D-Gorham, who is prevented from seeking re-election by the state’s term limits law.

“I’m convinced I can be part of a stronger bipartisan effort to make positive changes for Maine citizens,” Boyle said in a press release.
