TOPSHAM — The Midcoast Council of Governments ( MCOG) has announced that a recent loan made to Happy Paws @ Unleashed will create up to seven full- and part-time jobs, and help with the company’s expansion and relocation plans.
MCOG is a nonprofit economic and community development organization that serves all of Sagadahoc County, as well as the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell. Among its programs, MCOG provides gap financing to local businesses in order to spur job creation/retention and business growth.
MCOG partnered with Atlantic Regional Federal Credit Union to provide the necessary financing for the expansion.
Owners Suzanne Dell, Robin Biedrzycki and Meghan Osborne are excited about the move to 647 Lewiston Road in Topsham. The partners merged businesses in 2010 and already need to double their space and add to their services in order to meet demand.
The relocation will allow them to offer dog day care, overnight boarding and a pet grooming academy, as well as allow them to expand the capacity of their existing services: full-service grooming, pet sitting, dog walking, selfservice dog washing and more.
According to a release, the owners expect to be up and running at 647 Lewiston Road in Topsham by March. For now, Happy Paws @ Unleashed will be open at 7 Second St. in Topsham.
