A parents’ workshop is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 18 at the Gold Room on Warren Avenue. The workshop, put on by PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) is part of a targeted effort to provide a positive environment for young athletes. The workshop teaches parents how to help their kids get the most out of their sports experience, and how parents can help coaches and league administrators establish and maintain a positive competitive environment. The Portland Sea Dogs’ Welcome Back Dinner is 5:30 p.m. April 3 at the Portland Expo. The dinner offers a chance to meet the 2012 team and enjoy a ballpark-style meal. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children. The first 24 tickets sold will each be seated with a team member. The dinner will help support the Opportunity Alliance.
