PORTLAND – The Bonny Eagle Scots got 15 points from Dustin Cole in just three quarters on their way to a 61-40 win over Marshwood in a Class A West quarterfinal game at the Portland Expo on Saturday night.
The win moves the No. 3 Scots into a semifinal matchup with No. 7 South Portland, which upset No. 2 Portland on Saturday. The Scots and the Riots will play at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
Bonny Eagle grabbed control of the game early on, and cruised out to a 26-16 halftime lead, ass Marshwood threatened late in the second quarter. The Scots blew the doors off the Hawks in the third, and took a 45-26 lead as Cole nailed a 3 at the buzzer.
That shot was Cole’s last of the game, as he fouled out just 14 seconds into the fourth quarter. But it didn’t matter, as Bonny Eagle never let Marshwood back into the contest in the final eight minutes.
