WESTBROOK – Police are investigating what they’re calling a “suspicious incident” at the TD Bank branch on Main Street on Friday night.
Police said a man entered the bank’s rear entrance shortly after 6 p.m., wearing a gray and black hoodie, a dark-colored hat, a dark nylon ski mask over his mouth and nose and winter gloves.
He walked to the counter and appeared to write a note and removed his hood at the assistant bank manager’s request, but he was wearing a dark hat under the hood. When the assistant manager approached again, the man acted like he was talking on a cellphone and left the bank’s front entrance.
The man was described as being in his early- to mid-20s, about 6 feet tall with blue eyes and a scar or bruise under his right eye.
Police are asking anyone with information on the man to call 854-0644 or the department’s anonymous tip line at 591-8117.
