HARPSWELL — Harpswell Republicans signaled their preference for presidential candidate Mitt Romney by a wide margin during a straw poll vote Saturday.
Romney received 37 votes in the Harpswell survey, followed by Ron Paul with nine votes, Rick Santorum with eight votes, Newt Gingrich with three votes, and two undecided.
The Harpswell Republican Committee also elected officers for the town committee, naming Jean Appleby Johnson chairwoman, Ed Robinson vice chairman and treasurer, and Judy Wood secretary.
