Portland High has new coaches in softball and girls’ lacrosse.

Kelly Libby is the softball coach, replacing Dee Allen, who left to become the Westbrook softball coach.

Kait Johnson is the girls’ lacrosse coach, replacing Eric Wales, who is an assistant athletic director at Gray-New Gloucester.

Libby was Sacopee Valley’s softball coach from 2008-11. Before that, he was an assistant coach there for six years. He’s the father of Michelle Libby, a former Maine Sunday Telegram/Portland Press Herald softball MVP as a Sacopee Valley pitcher. She continued her career at the University of Massachusetts.

Last spring, Libby was an assistant coach at the University of Southern Maine.

He also has coached the Southern Maine Flame.
