SOUTH PORTLAND — A section of Broadway will be reduced to one lane today while a work crew from the Portland Water District repairs a water main leak, according to police.

The crew will be working near Morse Street, just west of the Casco Bay Bridge.

Broadway is a heavily traveled street leading to Route 1, Interstate 295 and downtown Portland. Significant traffic delays are expected and drivers should use other routes.

Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m., but it will likely affect afternoon commuter traffic.
