BRUNSWICK — The seventh grade at Brunswick Junior High School hosted a career fair on Jan. 25.
The purpose of the fair was to “expose the students to a variety of careers that exist in today’s work force,” a release from the school states.
Presenters included Tony Sachs (small business owner), Frasier Ruwet (contractor), Kristin Jamb (doctor), Dennis Tefft ( kitchen and bath design), Dan Libby (lobsterman), Kathy Cost (personal trainer), Ed Hartford (electrician), James Backman (fireman), Meadow Rue Merrill ( writer) and Dana Waring Bateman (geneticist).
“Students attended four different sessions and learned what it takes to get into the particular field and what the job itself entails,” the release states. “Students were given the opportunity to interact in economic units, handle live lobsters and interact with these professionals in a wide array of ways. The seventh grade at the Brunswick Junior High School was excited to be able to integrate … into the community in this way and (is) extremely grateful that these professionals found the time to integrate themselves into the Brunswick Junior High School.”
