BRUNSWICK — Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) plans to host a dance workshop on Feb. 18 that will provide dance training related to MSMT’s upcoming 2012 season.

Participants will learn part of the original choreography of the musical “A Chorus Line” and a tap combination from “42nd Street.”

The workshop will be taught by Ray Dumont, a veteran MSMT performer, director and choreographer, and former MSMT managing director.

The workshop is suited for intermediate to advanced high school and college-aged dancers. During the workshop, participants will be given an insight into the dance demands of MSMT’s upcoming season, which includes “A Chorus Line” and “ 42nd Street,” “ Legally Blonde” and “Sunset Boulevard.”

“The workshop is a part of MSMT’s continuing effort to introduce up and coming performers to the world of professional theater and the specific styles of dance inherent to musical theater,” an MSMT release states.
