KENNEBUNK ( AP) — Police say a 5-year-old Kennebunk girl struck by a car as she was crossing the street to catch the school bus is expected to survive.
Authorities say the 24-yearold driver that struck the girl at about 8 a.m. on Wednesday may have been blinded by the sun’s glare. He was not speeding and is not expected to face charges.
The girl was conscious but crying after the accident and was taken to Maine Medical Center.
Her parents tell school officials that she did not suffer any broken bones. Her name was not released.
