RANDOLPH, Vt. — Nick Hinkley of Wiscasset scored 24 points and Central Maine Community Center withstood a late charge in picking up a crucial 74-63 Yankee Conference men’s victory over Vermont Technical College on Saturday.
Tyler Smith had a doubledouble for the victors with 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Mustangs improved to 18- 9 overall, 8-6 in the conference.
The CMCC women made it a sweep, downing VTC 64-42 in the nightcap.
Danielle McCusker led the Mustangs with 29 points, while Kayla Ellis and Lisbon’s Jen Caton each recorded four steals.
CMCC’s third consecutive win improves its record to 11- 8, 8-5 in conference play.
