BRUNSWICK
Mid Coast Hospital’s annual “Sweets for the Sweet” Valentine Bake Sale will serve up homemade baked goods and candies from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the hospital.
Sponsored by the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary, the sale will support the organization’s scholarship program that, according to the hospital’s website, provides approximately $35,000 in financial aid every spring to local students pursuing health care careers at four-year colleges, technical colleges or other specialized training centers.
Donations for the fundraiser can be left in the hospital’s volunteer office between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Volunteers will package the treats for gifts.
The sale will take place in the hospital’s Café Corridor, to the left of the main entrance at 123 Medical Center Drive.
Scholarship applicants should apply by April 15. Applications can be found online at midcoasthealth.com/volunteer.
For more information, call the hospital volunteer office at 373- 6015 or email Millie Stewart at mstewart@midcoasthealth.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
