Red Sox, Aceves settle on $1.2 million, one-year deal
Right-hander Alfredo Aceves and the Boston Red Sox agreed to a $1.2 million, one-year contract that avoided salary arbitration.
Aceves, 30, was 10-2 with a 2.61 ERA and two saves in 51 relief appearances and four starts last season.
Designated hitter David Ortiz is Boston’s last remaining player in arbitration.

GOLDEN GLOVES: Portland Boxing Club fighters were 4 for 4 in the Northern New England Golden Gloves finals at Burlington, Vt.
Jayson Richter, a novice middleweight, won a unanimous decision over Ian MacLeod of Burlington, Vt.
In the open class, light welterweight Casey Kramlich claimed his third straight Northern New England title with a decision over Brandon Berry of West Forks and earned the tournament’s most outstanding boxer award.
Open division featherweight Juan Lopez came from behind to beat Josh Bickford of Mt. Holly, Vt.; and open featherweight Liz Leddy outscored Amber Blumenfeld of Claremont, N.H.
Kathy Ureneck, a novice light welterweight, advanced by walkover because of an injury to her opponent. Jeremy Whitham, an open class middleweight, was unable to compete after suffering a rib injury in training.
The Northern New England winners advance to the New England championships starting Friday at Lowell, Mass.
