STANDISH – On Saturday, Feb. 4, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 25 in Standish in which a pedestrian was struck at around 6 p.m.

Thomas Hayden, 59, of Standish, was operating a 2005 Chevy Cobalt east on Route 25 in an area not well illuminated, according to Chief Deputy Naldo Gagnon. Hayden struck Alexander Goodrich, 33, who was reported to have been staggering in the roadway and impaired by the effects of alcohol and/or drugs, Gagnon said.

Goodrich, who sustained non-life threatening injury, was transported to Maine Medical Center by Standish Rescue. The cause of the accident is pedestrian error, Gagnon said.
