BALTIMORE – Alasdair Fraser had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Raheem Singleton hit two free throws with seven seconds remaining to give Maine a 77-76 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County in overtime Saturday.

After UMBC took a 76-73 lead with 19 seconds to play on two free throws by Ryan Cook, a tip-in by Gerald McLemore, who had 20 points, brought the Black Bears (11-10, 5-5 America East) within a point with nine seconds left.

McLemore quickly fouled Brian Neller, who missed both his attempts for the Retrievers (3-19, 2-8). Fraser grabbed the rebound, and Singleton was fouled by Jarrel Lane with seven seconds left and made both shots.

Lane missed a shot just before time expired.

UNE 60, ROGER WILLIAMS 48: Senior Ryan Knotek scored 18 points, including 15 from 3-point range, as the University of New England (5-16, 5-7 CCC) downed Roger Williams (12-9, 8-6), at Biddeford.

BOWDOIN 89, WILLIAMS 84: Ryan O’Connell scored 21 points for the Polar Bears (15-6, 4-4 NESCAC), who used a 10-1 run in the final three minutes of overtime to beat the Ephs (16-6, 4-4) at Williamstown, Mass.

VERMONT TECHNICAL 69, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 51: Kevin Carr scored 25 points to lead Vermont Technical College (13-9) over Southern Maine Community College (10-14) at Randolph Center, Vt.

BATES 60, TRINITY 59: John Squires tipped in the winning basket to give Bates (11-9, 5-4 NESCAC) a dramatic win over Trinity College (10-11, 2-6) at Alumni Gym in Lewiston.

The Bobcats trailed by 17 with 12:13 left.

KEENE STATE 92, SOUTHERN MAINE 57: Keene State (17-4, 9-1 LEC) won its eighth straight, blowing out the University of Southern Maine (9-11, 2-8), at Spaulding Gym at Keene State.

Southern Maine got 16 points from Brandon Tomah.

ANNA MARIA 61, ST. JOSEPH’S 54: Anthony Click had 14 points to lead Anna Maria (9-12, 7-7 GNAC) in its second victory this week over St. Joseph’s College (14-6, 10-4) at Paxton, Mass.

The Amcats defeated the Monks 53-50 at Standish on Monday.

MIDDLEBURY 72, COLBY 53: Top-ranked Middlebury (20-1, 8-0 NESCAC) easily handled Colby College (6-15, 1-7) at Middlebury, Vt.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

COLBY 69, MIDDLEBURY 49: Jil Vaughan had 17 points with 11 rebounds as the Mules (15-5, 5-3 NESCAC) handled the Panthers (6-15, 0-8).

Rachel Mack and Jacky McLaughlin each had 10 points for Colby.

KEENE STATE 49, SOUTHERN MAINE 46: Courtney Cirillo scored 16 points with 10 rebounds, and the Owls (14-5, 8-2 Little East) snapped the Huskies’ (1-5, 7-3) six-game win streak, at Keene, N.H.

Courtney Cochran had 13 points and 16 rebounds for the Huskies, who trailed 31-22 early in the second half before pulling ahead 44-40 with 3:06 left. Haley Jordan finished with 11 points.

SOUTHERN MAINE C.C. 49, VERMONT TC 40: Marissa Welch and Katelyn Benson each scored 12 points as the Seawolves (13-9) defeated the Knights (4-11) at Randolph Center, Vt.

ST. JOSEPH’S 71, ANNA MARIA 58: Megan McDevitt scored 23 points as the Monks (15-6, 9-0 GNAC) downed the Amcats (5-16, 1-8) at Paxton, Mass.

TRINITY 81, BATES 71: Michelle Royals scored 27 points and the Bantams (8-11, 2-6 NESCAC) needed a 7-2 run in the closing minutes to stop the Bobcats (9-13, 2-7) at Lewiston.

UMBC 66, MAINE 44: Erin Brown scored a game-high 18 points and the Retrievers (12-12, 6-5 America East) held the Black Bears (6-17, 3-7) to 17 percent field-goal shooting in the second half at Baltimore.

UNE 78, ROGER WILLIAMS 41: Beth Suggs and Margo Russell each had 16 points and the Nor’easters (17-4, 12-2 Commonwealth Coast) opened with a 15-0 run against the Hawks (11-10, 8-6) at Biddeford.

SOUTHERN MAINE 4, ST. MICHAEL’S 1: Alex Smith had two goals, and Christen Hart scored a goal and assisted on three others as the Huskies (6-11-4, 6-6-2) defeated St. Michael’s (3-16-1, 2-13-1) in Gorham.

AMHERST 5, COLBY 2: Amherst’s Andrew Kurlandski scored 2:36 into the third period, and Mike Rowbottom scored his second goal of the game five minutes later to give the Lord Jeffs (16-3-1, 13-1 NESCAC) a lead over Colby (5-14, 2-12) in Amherst, Mass.
