OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Two single family homes were heavily damaged Friday afternoon by a fire that began at 40 Seaview Ave. and spread to the home next door.
Firefighters from Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Biddeford and Scarborough responded to the site of the fire at about 2 p.m. Friday, where they found heavy flames, according to OOB Fire Department acting captain Chip Howarth.
The home at 40 Seaview Ave. is a complete loss, said Howarth, and the fire had spread to 38 Seaview Ave., which also suffered significant damage.
No injuries were reported in connection with the fire, said Howarth, and fire crews cleared the scene at about 6 p.m. The State Fire Marshal’s office was on scene Friday night investigating the cause, said Howarth, and the Red Cross was on scene to aid the homeowners.
