PORTLAND — On Saturday night, the Maine Tennis Association named Maisie Silverman the number- one player in Maine tennis for 2011 in both the women’s open and the Girls 16s.
Silverman, a sophomore at Brunswick High School, earned the No. 1 ranking in the women’s open category by playing in four tournaments on the MTA adult schedule while only 15.
She was champion of the MTA tournament, the Summer’s End Classic and the Debevoise Memorial. Silverman was also a finalist in the Betty Blakeman.
