TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee boys basketball team fell to Skowhegan 55-46 on Tuesday.
Mt. Ararat trailed 9-8 after one quarter, went up 24-22 at the half, and the teams were tied at 35 after three quarters.
Mason Griffin scored 12 points and Devin Monteiro added nine for the Eagles, who were 13 of 29 at the foul line.
Patrick Poirien scored 17 and Dequan Frost 14 for the Indians, who were 20 of 30 at the charity stripe
Griffin also grabbed 11 rebounds, Joe Thomas seven and Monteiro seven as the Eagles held a 45-29 edge off the boards.
Playing well off the bench for Mt. Ararat were Nick Graney and Zack Curtis.
