TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School boys basketball teams swept Oxford Hills in Monday’s action.
The Mt. Ararat seventh- graders defeated Oxford Hills, 56-18. The Eagles were led by Steven Gerencer and Kyle Brown with 10 points each, followed by Cole Guerin with eight, Cam Cox and Eagan Eldridge six each, Haven Cutco five and Elliott Bowie fours. The Eagles finished their season with an 8- 4 record.
In the eighth-grade game, Mt. Ararat handed Oxford Hills its first loss in two years, 37-32.
The 8-3 Eagles led 10-7 and 19-11 after the first two quarter breaks, but trailed 25-22 heading into the final period.
Shy Ulrickson led Mt. Ararat with 18 points, while Harper Moutal had eight and Garrett Bolduc five. Alex LaFountain was a top rebounder and Deamonte Stupinski and Addison Lewis played well.
Jake Beuchense and Andrew Fleming scored 11 points each in the loss and Blake Slicer added six.
