SOUTHWEST HARBOR (AP) — One of Maine’s bestknown boat builders is launching the first yacht in a new line of luxury motor vessels.
The Hinckley Co. will be launching the first yacht of its Talaria T48 series today at its boatyard in Southwest Harbor.
The 50-foot yacht is modeled after the original Talaria series of boats, which resemble swanky versions of traditional Down East lobster boats. The T48 has a redefined hull and can cruise at 30 knots while drawing only 32 inches of water.
Gov. Paul LePage will be on hand for the launching.
