The anybody-can-win, anybody-can-lose season continued Tuesday night in Western Class A, when Biddeford sent Bonny Eagle crashing, and Westbrook surprised Thornton Academy.
BIDDEFORD 69, BONNY EAGLE 62: Bobby Cote drained six of the 13 3-pointers by the Tigers (8-8), scoring 33 points against Bonny Eagle (12-4) at Biddeford.
Cote had nine points in the first period, including two of the five 3-pointers by the Tigers, to help open a 19-16 lead. Biddeford led 33-26 by the half and extended the lead to 55-44 as Cote scored 10 and Nicholas Leblond seven in the third quarter.
Leblond finished with 18 points. C.J. Autry scored 23 and Dustin Cole 14 for the Scots.
WESTBROOK 59, THORNTON ACADEMY 56: Zachary Bean scored 15 points and David Breunig 11 to lead Westbrook (7-8) past the Golden Trojans (10-5) at Saco.
The Blue Blazes pushed ahead from a 44-44 third-period tie, and converted 7 of 12 from the line in the fourth period.
Justin Pollard sank seven 3-pointers en route to 32 points for Thornton. Jeffrey Gelinas added 13 points.
GREELY 58, YARMOUTH 57: Michael McDevitt scored 24 points with 10 rebounds as the Rangers (10-5) edged the Clippers (12-3) at Cumberland.
Nick Clark had 15 points and Cooper Allen added 10 assists for Greely.
Josh Britten scored 17 of his 25 points in the first half for Yarmouth. Chris Knaub finished with 11 points and Sam Torres 10.
BRUNSWICK 60, OXFORD HILLS 55: Garrett Erb and Ryan Black each sank four free throws as the Dragons (10-5) scored eight of their 12 fourth-period points from the line to hold off Oxford Hills (4-11) at Brunswick.
Erb finished with 16 points, Mitchell Black 12 and Ryan Black 12. Josh MacDonald scored 13 for the Vikings.
PORTLAND 71, NOBLE 32: Justin Zukowski scored 19 points, and Peter Donato had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (11-4) past the Knights (1-14) at Portland.
Mike Herrick chipped in eight points, five rebounds and five assists for Portland.
CHEVERUS 69, KENNEBUNK 15: Louie DiStasio scored 16 points as Cheverus (12-3) downed the Rams (3-12) at Kennebunk.
Cam Olson added 12 points for the Stags.
SCARBOROUGH 55, MASSABESIC 35: Dillon Russo scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half as the Red Storm (9-6) built a 32-8 lead against Massabesic (1-14) at Scarborough.
Ryan Dodge led the Mustangs with 14 points.
MARSHWOOD 62, GORHAM 50: Matthew Crosby finished with 19 points and Brady Innes added 10 to lead the Hawks (10-5) past the Rams (3-12) at Gorham.
Carter Bowers paced Gorham with 22 points.
WELLS 60, CAPE ELIZABETH 56: Jake Moody scored 29 points to power Wells (10-5) past the Capers (7-8) at Cape Elizabeth.
Moody scored eight points in the fourth period, helping the Wildcats hold off a Cape team that rallied from a nine-point deficit to make it 56-56. Wells pulled away on an offensive rebound and two free throws.
Dylan Stevens added 10 points for Wells. Henry Babcock scored 24 for Cape Elizabeth, including 13 in the fourth period, and Chris Robicheaw had 20.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 62, FREEPORT 49: Bright Amoako scored seven of his 19 points in the third quarter as Fryeburg Academy (5-10) used a 20-7 run to take a 48-36 lead against the Falcons (2-13) at Freeport.
Djordje Obradovic chipped in 17 points and Walker Mallory had 13 for Fryeburg.
POLAND 65, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 45: Caleb Martin had nine of his 16 points as Poland (9-6) opened a 24-12 first-period lead against the Patriots (3-12) at Gray.
Ricky Bryant added 10 of his 20 as the Knights widened the lead to 38-18 by halftime.
WAYNFLETE 61, HYDE 44: Serge Nyirikamba scored 17 points and Jack Cutler added 10 to lead the Flyers (10-3) past the Phoenix (12-1) at Bath.
Waynflete started the third quarter with a 3-pointer from Max Belleau and a bucket from Cutler, opening a 31-22 lead.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 41, MORSE 35: Dylan Leavitt scored 13 points for the Eagles (7-8) against Morse (4-11) at Bath.
YORK 72, TRAIP ACADEMY 29: Adam Bailey scored 14 points and Hayden Webster added 11 to help the Wildcats (12-3) down the Rangers (4-10) at York.
Twelve players scored for York, which took a 16-0 first-quarter lead.
FALMOUTH 84, LAKE REGION 31: Matt Packard scored 13 of his 17 points in the second quarter as the Yachtsmen (15-0) opened a 45-17 lead against the Lakers (3-12) at Falmouth.
Packard made three 3-pointers during a 28-12 run in the second period.
MT. ARARAT 78, SKOWHEGAN 56: Tyler Charron made seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points to lead the Eagles (2-13) past the Indians (3-12) at Topsham.
