FALMOUTH – Mitchell Tapley, Brandon Tuttle, Kris Samaras and Benjamin Freeman each scored twice Saturday night to lead Falmouth to a 9-1 victory against Marshwood-Traip Academy in a schoolboy hockey game at Family Ice Center.

Cameron Bell also scored for Falmouth (7-3). Peter Lajeunesse answered for Marshwood-Traip Academy (9-2).

LAKE REGION-FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1, WESTBROOK 0: Ricky Henward made 35 saves as Lake Region-Fryeburg Academy (5-5) shut out Westbrook (3-7) at Bridgton.

T.J. Leach collected a pass from Evan Kellough and delivered a shot from the point that slipped under the goalie pads of Topi Laakso at 10:27 of the third period.

Laakso had 30 saves.

CONY 3, WINDHAM-SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Tyler Leet and Dylan Scherer had a goal and an assist each for Cony (8-3) against Windham-Sacopee Valley (2-11), at Gorham.

Cony scored twice in the first period. Josh Merrill answered early in the second, but Scherer matched that goal four minutes later and goalie Matt Swan held Windham-Sacopee Valley scoreless the rest of the way.

Ernest Merrill made 52 saves for Windham-Sacopee Valley.

EDWARD LITTLE 5, GORHAM 2: Jared Pelletier scored three goals, and Drew Lupareo had a goal and an assist as Edward Little (6-5-1) downed the Rams (4-6) at Gorham.

Pelletier’s goal 16 seconds into the game started the Red Eddies to a 3-0 first-period lead. Danny Poisson scored 1:05 later and Pelletier added a goal at 7:55.

Lupareo’s short-handed goal 4:44 into the second period increased the lead to 4-0 before Spence Cowand scored for Gorham later in the period. Pelletier and Casey Viel traded third-period goals.

GREELY 8, LEAVITT 1: Ted Hart had two goals and an assist, and Mitchel Donovan added a goal and two assists as Greely (7-3-1) beat the Hornets (4-8) at Auburn.

Joe Saffian and Reid Howland each had a goal and an assist for Greely. Conner Violette scored for Leavitt.

CHEVERUS 8, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Liam Fitzpatrick scored twice to help the Stags (5-3) beat the Red Riots (3-8) at Portland.

Sterling Weatherbie and John Cella each had a goal and an assist.

NOBLE-WELLS 4, MASSABESIC-OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3: Mik Ricker scored three times to help Noble/Wells (2-10) edge Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach (2-8-1) at Rochester, N.H.

Ricker’s second goal broke a 2-2 tie with 1:47 left in the first period. He made it 4-2 with 3:12 left in the second.

Chulainn Kelly had a goal and an assist for Noble-Wells. A.J. Gass had a hat trick for Massabesic-Old Orchard Beach.

CAPE ELIZABETH 5, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Nick Breed had two goals and two assists to lead the Capers (6-3-2) past the Windjammers (7-4) at Portland.

Donald Clark added two goals and Matt Ross also scored.

Grayson Szumilas answered for Camden Hills.

YARMOUTH 6, GARDINER 3: Alex Kurtz’s power-play goal 9:56 into the second period broke a 2-2 tie as the Clippers (6-3-1) rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Tigers (6-6) at Yarmouth.

Yarmouth trailed 2-0 three minutes into the second period but scored the next five goals to assume control.

Kurtz finished with two goals and two assists. Mark Brown added a goal and two assists for the Clippers, and Max Watson and Eamon Costello had a goal and an assist each.

BASKETBALL

A.R. GOULD 43, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 38: Mohamed Ali’s 3-pointer gave the Bears (7-4) their first lead of the game, 38-36. Free throws down the stretch maintained that lead against the Panthers (2-10) at South Portland.

A.R. Gould trailed 25-16 at the half and 29-24 entering the final period, then outscored the Panthers 19-9 behind Zacharia Mohamed’s 11 points.

Mohamed finished with 25 points. Asad Dahia scored 11 and Burke Paxton 10 for NYA.
