TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee boys basketball team was nipped by Oxford Hills, 49-47 on Tuesday.
Mt. Ararat led the visiting Vikings 12-9, 24-23 and 40-29 after the quarter breaks. Oxford Hills ended the game with a 20-7 run.
Joe Thomas had 10 points for Mt. Ararat, Devin Montiero eight and Jake Demosthenes seven.
Riely Chickering led Oxford Hills with 10 points, and Ryan Godin and Caleb Fillebrown added nine each.
At the foul line, the hosts were 11 of 24 and the Vikings 12 of 22.
Both teams had 31 rebounds with Thomas grabbing eight, Montiero five and Mason Griffin five. Griffin Stockford turned in a strong all-around game.
Mt. Ararat is scheduled to visit Erskine Academy today.
